This is the best po'boy! I discovered your recipe a few months back in a google search and have been making it ever since. The Wondra and cornstarch really crisp the shrimp up. Heaven.

Real New Orleans Po'boy huh? NO MUSTARD ON A PO'BOY!!! Even when fully dressed you don't have mustard! But if you are still looking for a good loaf of bread for your po'boy and you live near a Vietnamese neighborhood they make a French loaf very similar to a New Orleans Po'boy roll. But please no mustard. Hot sauce optional... but almost always a great addition.

There's a cookbook called, "Cajun-Creole cooking" by Terry Thompson. It has a New Orleans French Loaves recipe in it. Maybe that book could help you with your search. Btw, your site looks good enough to eat!

I'm trying this recipe for fried shrimp. I am a Louisiana native, currently living in Montana. We usually just fry our shrimp in corn meal for munching around the house, but I miss Chris' Po-Boys in Lafayette and want to try to immulate them. I know they use corn flour or something other than meal. Thanks for the Wondra tip, I'm trying that with my recipe, which substitutes shredded cabbage for the lettuce, no mustard on this one, add sliced tomato, mayo, and a pickle slice on the side w/ some chips, and we're done! I'll let you know how it turns out!
